Years ago I watched this documentary about hookers in New York. And I use the term hookers because hookers was in the title of the film.
Anyway, during an interview with a hooker who figured prominently in the film, the filmmaker asked her what all she would do with a trick, just how far would she go and what were her limits, for money. She answered that she would do practically anything, and anything she would not do, she could find a hooker who did, but with one exception.
She then qualified her remarks by stating that she, and all other self-respecting hookers, would never kiss a trick. Never! She explained that sex work required that the workers sell off small pieces of themselves over and over again, day in and day out, and as such could be demeaningly degrading and threatened the workers’ sense of self and humanity.
So, to maintain that sense of self and humanity, they had to hold something back, and because of its sense of implied authentic intimacy and promise, that something was the kiss. Something had to be kept sacred.

She finished her explanation by stating that being a hooker is just what they did to get by, not unlike the things many others who sit in judgement in them do, but it is not who they are.
And only those hookers who had forgotten this and lost any sense of themselves and their humanity and allowed their bodies to become simply empty shells devoid of souls would ever kiss a trick. To those in the life, to find oneself at the point that one would actually kiss a trick was the very lowest one could go.
Those Republicans who know better but still support Trump, those Republicans who have endorsed Trump even while attempting to distance themselves from his words and actions, and especially those rRepublicans who rush to stand in front of a microphone and/or a television camera to defend the increasingly abject foolishness and ignorance that issues forth from his mouth on the regular are like those hookers who have allowed themselves to become so utterly debased that they would kiss a trick. Full on the mouth. With tongue.
