MSNBC National Correspondent Joy Reid tells Rachel Maddow that the Sanders campaign cut staffers to marshal resources for big, upcoming contests in California and New Jersey. The Sanders campaign, she says, is in it for the long haul and could use their influence to make structural changes to the party, much like Jesse Jackson did back in 1988. In the interview above, Joy Reid also explains that some of Sanders’ former staffers were not only upset about being laid off. But more so, because Sanders himself did not personally address them on the conference call.
