I am one of those people who will not eat just anybody hog guts. I could only eat my moms but she's gone on to glory so that's the end of that.

They were a New Years tradition at my home and I sure do miss them.

Those Shitlins are a problem and are the last remnants of slavery. I always tell people if I would take a sewer pipe and clean it out would you drink orange juice through it. Most people say NO but I think Blacks just block it out totally and enjoy the Shit and seasonings.

Happy Anniversary to you both. It's so nice hear about a happy, young black couple in love.

BTW, I had a coworker who would soak her chitlins in water with a little bleach - don't recall how much, but it wasn't much, and I question if that was healthy even after rinsing. I've never tasted the stuff myself.

She also made barbeque pig feet. That was a first for me, and surprisingly, I loved them. Never had them again, though, but if I run into to her and she invites me over for some, I would say yeah.

I used to eat chitlins as a little girl. Tasted good as hell with a little dab of hot sauce. Unfortunately, someone eventually told me what I was eating, and they suddenly started smelling like sh*t! Ain’t touched a forkful since! (LMBAO)
