So I just found out that the world is coming to an end on December 21st, 2013. Yeah I know, we’re not gonna even have Christmas this year. Even worse is the fact that there will be no inauguration to attend in January. It really sucks because, even as historic as the last one was, I missed it. This being the last time they’d ever let a black man swear an oath to being POTUS, I was damn sure I wasn’t going to miss this one. But, none of you people told me about the world ending before now, so I suppose that’s not going to happen. Hell, who knew the Mayans were Republicans?

But anyway, speaking of end of times and apocalyptic events. Did you hear that Tea Party darling and slave-catcher extraordinaire, Allen West, lost his Congressional seat in November? Yep, fortunately for us, we won’t have to be assaulted with his ignorance in the next Congress. And of course after losing a requested ballot recount, West is now asserting that his loss was due to his opponent cheating – yeah, like all Democrats are obviously known to do.

Appearing on Mark Levin’s radio show last Thursday, West accused his challenger Patrick Murphy, of cheating: “I’m not going away just because of a congressional race where he seems to have to cheat to beat me.” Of course being no stranger to controversial statements, West never offered an explanation of how Murphy cheated. But in true self-aggrandizing albeit narcissistic fashion, West chose to beat his chest in defeat like the deranged “warrior,” and deluded nutjob that he is.

Check it out:

LEVIN: You are a national treasure. You are way too important to have something like this to happen and off you go. That can’t happen. So I’m really curious to know. Do you have further public service in mind, potentially?

WEST: The most important thing everyone has to understand is my voice is not going to be lost. We’ve gotten a lot of opportunities, a lot of offers, and we’re going to make sure we continue to have that platform. […] I’m a warrior and I’m a statesman and I’m a servant of this republic. I’m not going away just because of a congressional race where he seems to have to cheat to beat me.

LEVIN: He sure as hell did. It’s disgusting.

Allen West suggesting that he lost his Congressional seat because his opponent cheated, sounds eerily like Marion Barry’s, “The bitch set me up,” line. Negro, you lost because you GOP pals through redistricting put you at an electoral disadvantage. Nope, they didn’t give a damn about your black ass. So, go sit’cho ass down somewhere and have a hot cup of STFU, with a “Nigga Please,” shit sandwich on the side. Of curse I have to give West credit for not blaming his loss on an Obama-created Mayan conspiracy with help from the Kenyan Mafia, and those Chicago gangsters.

Forget the fiscal cliff, folks. Certain people are jumping off the Racial Cliff since Obama won last week. Did you hear the one about the woman who ran over her husband because he didn’t vote? Apparently she was a Romney supporter who took that Vote or Die thing seriously. Yeah, too seriously!

I swear, the way “certain people” are acting — you know, with currently petitions in all 50 states seeking secession? — you’d think Obama proposed to bring back slavery just for white people. Maybe I missed it during the campaign, but the way they act one would think that this was his policy agenda. I mean, why else would a woman run over her husband, or a man commit suicide because Obama was re-elected?

Yeah, and in Indiana this happened:

The fighting between Mitt Romney and Barack Obama may be over, but one political fight put an Evansville man behind bars.

Julian Knight was arrested on several outstanding warrants, but police say he could face a charge of battery by bodily waste.

Officers responded to Knight’s home Tuesday, after they say knight and his sister got into a fight. The sister says Julian spit on her after she told him she did not vote for Obama.

Now how’s that for fair and balanced? Oh yeah, and then there’s this:

A Florida tanning salon owner reportedly upset by President Barack Obama’s reelection apparently committed suicide after scrawling “F*** Obama” across his will.

The 64-year-old owner of a Tropical Tan salon in Key West, Fla., was “very upset about the election results,” his partner Michael Cossey told police Officer Anna Dykes, according to the Keynoter. Prior to his death, the owner was reportedly “very stressed about his business.” He told Cossey, “If Barack gets re-elected, I’m not going to be around.”

The man was found dead in his bedroom on Nov. 8, according to the Keynoter. Empty prescription bottles were also found, one of which was Seroquel — a drug used to treat bipolar disorder, depression and schizophrenia.

A copy of the man’s living will was found on his bathroom sink, the Key West Citizen reports. The will contained handwriting that read, “Do not revive! F*** Obama!”

Cossey said he believes his partner may have ingested pills and alcohol, but the cause of death is pending an autopsy by the medical examiner. According to the Key West Citizen, Cossey said his partner was dealing with a struggling business.

So, is it that serious that you have to take your own life? No really, is it??

I like Melissa Harris-Perry, but yesterday she let me down. On her show yesterday she discussed what is being reported as a “riot” on the Ole Miss campus which erupted in the wake of President Obama’s victory on election night. Now I would agree that what occurred was hot a full on race riot; after all, it wasn’t like 50 years ago when the school’s first black student attempted to step foot on the then lily-white campus.

Yes, let’s be honest: This country hasn’t seen a real race riot since maybe the Rodney King verdict. However, for her to downplay the actions of several students to be anything less than racially motivated was disheartening. Why? Let’s just say it wasn’t an accident that Obama didn’t win any southern states.

Now I didn’t expect her to tie up her braids, snatch her earings, and slap some Vaseline on her face while throwing up a black fist before going to war — let’s be real, she’s no Angela Davis. But to treat the event like it was just the typical frat boy behavior we’ve come to be used to at college campuses, was bullshit. To me, it was as if she deliberately took caution so as to not “upset” her new southern neighbors in New Orléans. After all, why would she rep hard for a southern city that’s often forgotten and not bring up the ugly side that is riddled with racial animus. Yeah, why would she go out of her way to play the, “See, not all southerners are racist,” card like she did?

Well it’s simple: Melissa was mindful of her husband’s political aspirations. Yep, Melissa’s husband — James Perry — recently ran a unsuccessful mayoral campaign. And quite conveniently, her husband was also a guest panelist on yesterday’s show to discuss poverty — which was excellent, by the way. Having said that, do you get the picture? Oh c’mon, do I have to spell it out for you?

James Perry & Melissa Harris-Perry

Yep, it’s kind of hard to push the argument that racism is still strong in the south when your husband wants to be mayor of a major southern city right next door to Mississippi. Listen, this is just another example of her — a prominent black person and scholar — selling out for political expediency. The thing about it, however, is that you won’t hear many of my Negro cousins calling her out on it like they do my man Dr. Cornel West. And they won’t because maybe as black people we all understand that selling out is part of the process when it comes to our advancement.

But we know the truth, folks. We know that the south is still the south. We know that though there may be more black faces on predominantly white southern college campuses, the long-held beliefs and traditions of these schools still exist today like they always have — after all, it’s their legacy.

But don’t tell that to Melissa…

A couple of days ago I wrote about the Las Vegas small business owner who said he had to fire 22 employees because President Barack Obama was re-elected. As evidenced by the many threats levied by various business owners prior to the election, many business owners are using Obama’s re-election as an excuse to sever ties with employees.

Many of them are citing an increased cost of business as a result of the Affordable Care Act, otherwise commonly known as ‘Obamacare‘. While they may be slight increases in cost as a result of the policy which requires the provision of health insurance coverage to employees. The fact that small businesses are given tax breaks as incentive to participate (and in some ways offset cost) in providing coverage is being largely ignored by business owners. Add to that, the fact that ‘Obamacare‘ doesn’t go into full effect until 2012. But don’t tell that to Papa John’s Pizza CEO John Schnatter, who now says that he will have to reduce the hours of his employees as a result.

This from The Huffington Post:

Papa John’s CEO John Schnatter said he plans on passing the costs of health care reform to his business onto his workers. Schnatter said he will likely reduce workers’ hours, as a result of President Obama’s reelection, the Naples News reports. Schnatter made headlines over the summer when he told shareholders that the cost of a Papa John’s pizza will increase by between 11 and 14 cents due to Obamacare.

“I got in a bunch of trouble for this,” he said, referring to the comments he made in August, according to Naples News. “That’s what you do, is you pass on costs. Unfortunately, I don’t think people know what they’re going to pay for this.”

Schnatter went on to say he’s neither in support of, nor against the Affordable Care Act, even admitting that “the good news is 100 percent of the population is going to have health insurance.” But he’s not the only one in the chain restaurant industry to admit that workers hours may be reduced, since Obamacare mandates that only employees that work more than 30 hours per week are covered under their employers health insurance plan. For example, Darden restaurants, the parent company of Olive Garden and Red Lobster, has already experimented with reducing workers hours in anticipation of the legislation.

Others have responded to the added costs of Obamacare more harshly, includingApplebee’s which has said it won’t hire new workers because of the law. Just this week, a Georgia business owner also claimed he cut employees due to Obamacareand in fact had specifically laid off those who he thought had voted for President Obama.

So lemme get this straight: Papa John’s Pizza cannot afford an eleven to fourteen cents increase in cost per pizza because of ‘Obamacare’. But, they can afford to give away 2 million free pizzas with the help of NFL superstar Peyton Manning, now that he has returned to the league?

Meh, I don’t know about you, but I think Papa is full of shit, as are the other businesses attempting to fool us all. But hey, don’t say I didn’t tell you when they cut out delivery, and start selling pies for $30 a pop because of Obama. At any rate, it’s good to know that you can still run out and buy a hot and ready pizza for $5 thanks to Little Caesars. Uh-huh, surely their employees would appreciate you doing that.

Yep, “Pizza Pizza,” muthafuckas — Papa John’s is full of shit!

You probably thought you’d never read the sentence: Thanks to marijuana, Peyton Manning’s timing is flawless.

Colorado voters passed Amendment 64 last Tuesday, a law that legalizes marijuana in the state for recreational use. The timing couldn’t be better for Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning, though not because he’s like a pot head or anything. Just two weeks ago, Manning purchased 21 Papa John’s franchises in Colorado.

Not seeing the connection? It’s the munchies. Stoners love to eat pizza. It’s one of their favorites, due to pace of delivery, range of variety, ease of ingestion and just general deliciousness. So odds are in a state where recreational use of marijuana is legal, there will probably be way more people eating Papa John’s.

It’s not just the added dollars spent on the pizza munchies that is likely to bring the state of Colorado some extra dough from weed legalization. Amendment 64 is estimated to bring the state $60 million in combined savings and added tax revenue.

Even before Colorado voters passed the law, Manning was confident that buying the pizza franchises was a savvy move.

“It’s a smart investment now and will be long after I’m done playing football,” saidManning was quoted by NBC News after sealing the deal on October 26.

Better ingredients, better pizza my ass, Papa.

So, over $1 billion dollars was spent this election cycle to put President Barack Obama — a black man — out of a job. Still think there’s no need for Affirmative Action? Yep, think about that one for a while, folks. Speaking of which, CBS Las Vegas is reporting what I think to be a very disturbing story. A Vegas small business owner who identified himself as “David,” told Kevin Wall on 100.5 KXNT that he had to fire 22 of his 114 employees because of Obama’s re-election.

He also noted that the majority of his employees were Latino, and that “elections have consequences” and that “at the end of the day, I need to survive.” No word on whether the employees fired were overwhelmingly Latino. However, citing an increase in the cost of doing business as a result of regulations brought on by Obamacare, he said his employees were forewarned. Below is a bit from the interview as well as audio of the exchange.

“I’ve done my share of educating my employees. I never tell them which way to vote. I believe in the free system we have, I believe in the right to choose who they want to be president, but I did explain as a business owner that I have always put my employees first. I always made sure that when I went without a paycheck that [I] made sure they were paid. And I explained that I always put them first and unfortunately I’m at a point where I’m being forced to have to worry about me and my family now and a business that I built from just me to 114 employees.

[…] I explained to them a month ago that if Obama gets in office that the regulations for Obamacare are gonna hurt our business, and I’m gonna have to make provisions to make sure I have enough money to cover the payroll taxes, the additional health care I’m gonna have to do, and I explained that to them and I said you do what you feel like in your heart you need to do, but I’m just letting you know as a warning this is things I have to think of as a business owner.”

Check out the audio below:

The business owner claimed that race was not a deciding factor in his decision. However, given the fact that the Latino vote was largely responsible for Obama’s victory. One has to question whether he was being completely truthful. After all, the rumor that Obamacare places a tax burden on small businesses itself, is false. The truth is, small business owners will be given tax breaks as an added incentive to provide health insurance to employees. Hopefully this story is investigated further.

Stay tuned!

So I noticed that the racism is rich today. It’s like there are a lot of news stories featuring racism and racist outbursts from random white Americans. Seriously, what’s that all about? It’s like as if a black guy became president of the United States or something. Funny, right? I mean, something like that would never happen here in America. Besides, if ever a black guy could be so lucky to become president, I’m sure he’ll be embraced. Don’t believe me? Just ask Karl Rove and his friends at FOX. Surely if anybody knows, they will.

There’s no way anyone would doubt whether he actually won, right?

Yep, thank God that nothing like this would ever happen if a black guy became president:

O’Reilly went on to predict that Romney would lose the election if he lost Ohio.

“How do you think we got to that point?” host Megyn Kelly wondered.

“Because it’s a changing country,” O’Reilly insisted. “The demographics are changing. It’s not a traditional America anymore and there are 50 percent of the voting public who want stuff, they want things. And who is going to give them things? President Obama.”

“The white establishment is now the minority,” he added. “And the voters — many of them — feel that this economic system is stacked against them and they want stuff. You’re going to see a tremendous Hispanic vote for President Obama, overwhelming black vote for President Obama and women will probably break President Obama’s way.”

“People feel that they are entitled to things. And which candidate between the two is going to give them things?”

Yeah, it’s hard to believe that something like that could happen…

One of my biggest disappointments about the Obama campaign, is that they never shifted focus to Mitt Romney’s record as governor. Let’s be honest, there was a good reason for Obama had a significant lead in Massachusetts. Hopefully by the time the election is decided, the fact that they didn’t doesn’t become such a big deal. Aside from that, there are a couple other issues that slipped under the radar. One, the fact that Romney paid zero taxes between 1996 and 2009 as exposed by Bloomberg News. And two, the fact that Romney made millions of dollars off of the very auto industry bailout that he criticized. The latter I think would have been a very effective talking point around the time he made his false claim that Chrysler’s Jeep division was moving jobs from America to China. And why? Well, let’s just say that Romney is full of character flaws.

This from Greg Palast:

For Mitt Romney, it’s one scary Halloween. The Presidential candidate has just learned that tomorrow afternoon (November 1) he will be charged by the United Automobile Workers (UAW) and other public interest groups with violating the federal ethics in government law by improperly concealing his multi-million dollar windfall from the auto industry bailout.

At a press conference in Toledo, Bob King, President of the United Automobile Workers, will announce that his union and Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) have filed a formal complaint with the US Office of Government Ethics in Washington stating that Gov. Romney improperly hid a profit of $15.3 million to $115.0 million in Ann Romney’s so-called “blind” trust.

The union chief says, “The American people have a right to know about Gov. Romney’s potential conflicts of interest, such as the profits his family made from the auto rescue. It’s time for Gov. Romney to disclose or divest.”

“While Romney was opposing the rescue of one of the nation’s most important manufacturing sectors, he was building his fortunes with his Delphi investor group, making his fortunes off the misfortunes of others,” King added.

The Romneys’ gigantic windfall was hidden inside an offshore corporation inside a limited partnership inside a trust which both concealed the gain and reduces taxes on it.

The Romneys’ windfall was originally exposed in Nation Magazine (and reposted on Truthout,) Mitt Romney’s Bail-out Bonanza after a worldwide investigation by our crew at The Guardian, the Nation Institute and the Palast Investigative Fund.

The full story of Romney and his “vulture fund” partners is in the New York Times bestseller, “Billionaires & Ballot Bandits,” available from Truthout with a contribution by clicking here.

According to ethics law expert Dr. Craig Holman of Public Citizen — who serves as an advisor on the charge — Ann Romney does not have a federally-approved blind trust. An approved “blind” trust may not be used to hide a major investment which could be affected by Romney if he were to be elected President. Other groups joining the UAW and CREW include Public Citizen, the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), Public Campaign, People for the American Way and The Social Equity Group.

President Obama’s approved trust, for example, contains only highly-diversified mutual funds on which presidential action can have little effect. By contrast, the auto bail-out provided a windfall of over 4,000% on one single Romney investment. (read more)

Because everybody knows Rudy Giuliani flew to Afghanistan after the 9/11 and went cave to cave until he put a bullet in Osama bin Laden’s head. His claim that Obama’s response to Hurricane Sandy was worse than George W. Bush’s response to Hurricane Katrina holds weight, right?

Speaking at a Mitt Romney campaign office in Florida yesterday, Giuliani said: “[Obama] right now is doing a terrible job of disaster relief in my city, but no one is talking about it.. People don’t have water, they don’t have food, electricity and his FEMA is no where to be found. This is a worse response than Katrina.” Worse than Bush’s response to Hurricane Katrina?

I wonder if Chris Christie can co-sign that claim.

Maybe I’m getting old, but I don’t remember seeing people standing on rooftops crying for help for at least a week like they did in New Orleans on my television. Not that I was there, but I’d think my mother, my brothers, and my oldest daughter who live in NYC would have told me about that.

But don’t tell that to Giuliani, who went on to make the same claim on FOX News in an interview with Neil Cavuto.

I think maybe because there’s an election going on, people don’t want to say that, but I think FEMA has dropped the ball, certainly as big they did with Katrina, maybe bigger because they had more warning here and the situation isn’t as big as Katrina.

Watch it here:

Yes Rudy, we get it; we all know that you were the 7th member of Seal Team 6. Jesus Christ, how dare we forget that you were the mayor of New York City when the Twin Towers fell. And yes, New York is “your city,” and this makes you the benchmark for emergency management, how?

Say anything to get a Cabinet position should Romney win, right Rudy?

Look, I’ve already discussed some of the ridiculous statements made by right-wingers in the wake of Hurricane Sandy (read here). Yes, and as such, there’s no real need for me to go into any detail. Nor is there any need for a long dissertation to address Rudy’s claim and call it anything other than what it was: bullshit. The truth is, we’re at the eleventh hour; and. the Republican Party elites are desperate. And as evidenced by Romney’s campaign and his “say anything to get elected” strategy.

As insulting as it is to voters, it’s important to understand that the tactic has worked to Romney’s advantage. And why has it worked? Well, without stating the obvious, let’s just say that there are a lot of idiots voting for Mitt. Oh, you don’t believe me? OK, well checkout the following interviews.

The year was 2003…

South Park had an episode named “All About Mormons” (<– watch it there if you have been asleep for the last 9 years) in their 7th season, in which they went through this seemingly far-fetched story and explanation of exactly what it is that Mormons Believe. At the time, I was without a car after a near-death situation back at the beginning of that summer, so I had nothing but time when I was not working 60 hours a week to get myself back into one.

When it went off, I went RIGHT to the internets to check the “this is bullshit” meter on this. What resulted was a “Phillip is awake until 4am” internet journey looking further into the Book of Mormon. What I learned at the time was not only PRECISELY outlined in the episode, but it was what took me deeper into the rabbit hole that had me up until 4 in the morning. More on that in a minute.

As I have stated here before, I have NO qualms admitting that I was raised in the church and my understanding of the bible leaves me not willing to take it literally so much as understanding that 2012 science is what it was then, so the tenor of HOW what was written was written reflects that. I prefer to take the lesson and apply to a more current situation. I do what works for me.

This matters because this “research” was done in 2003, and I became aware of Romney when he ATTEMPTED to run for president in 2008, but stalled out in the primaries. The moment I read that he was Mormon, I was done with him.

Last week, AlterNet posted a story/link that detailed one of the tenets of Mormon belief; that Jesus would return to the earth in Independence Missouri (lol, I said Missouri) AND Jerusalem and rule for (only?) 1000 years. His return in this manner was tied to a United States in a constitutional crisis and on the verge of collapse and that the savior making way for Jesus’ return would himself be a Mormon and that OTHER Mormons would be made “Gods” themselves on the other side of this.

Now, we all know that Joseph Smith was a CONVICTED con-man. What we may have missed is that he is apparently a very bad fanfiction novelist whose most famous and influential work was loosely based on what we SHOULD believe about the New Testament with a sprinkling of what he could – for his own personal gain – convince us that we should believe about it.

And this is where Willard Mittens Romney comes in.

See, having read and pretending to believe what this fan fiction novel contains, he has used his privileged position to rise in the ranks of this “church,” using it to avoid military service and generally avoid the onus of having to behave like a decent human being when conveniently avoidable. Now having lost the 2008 GOP race, and seeing that a party whose policies have CREATED the problem that currently dog the country and its economy, Mittens has created HIMSELF as the “Mormon savior” who will save the US from certain doom.

Now, Mormons only make up about 2% of the US population and EVERY SINGLE ONE of those voting for Mitt might not make so much of a difference in his outcome of the election. What must be watched is the number of people who might still wake up on Election Tuesday still needing to be convinced to actually vote at all. Drawing the fact that some might be convinced to buy Joseph Smith’s snake oil will EASILY believe that Mitt is – instead of an entitled asshole who is growing increasingly frustrated that he has to be more aggressive than he feels he has to be – the aforementioned “savior” of America named in Smith’s fanfic novel.

But no, not me…

Again, my mind was made up the moment that Romney’s name came to my attention. Well, one could say that it was made four years before that. Maybe it is just me, but I cannot actively allow myself to trust a dude who ADMITS to believing something like that and then appears more to be using it for his own personal gain.

In other words, Romney never had my vote, and it was never because anyone involved was black or white.
