One of the first legislative things the GOP did was get rid of ACORN ( the nationwide group that registered voters) via relentless demonetization, lies AND a doctored video! Planned Parenthood is in their sights now …using the same tactics,
Walker busted the Unions in WI, Brownback destroys his States economy ..MS AL even Maine become feudal hell holes
“Smaller government” is code for …”we are still fighting the War of Northern Aggression aka The Civil War”.
AND really really want to repeal 20th Century America …that is EVERY societal, legislative and progressive idea that gain root. Even the “Middle-Class”!
Oh …AND ..let’s just forget and ignore the 1st 16 years of the 21st Century!
The disastrous GOP governance of G W Bush/Cheney … never happened!

AND the ELECTION of THAT that BLACK guy … TWICE!
And his successful restoration of the economy, manufacturing, US Auto Industry stock market, 65+ months of job growth, fewest AMERICANS UNinsured (health care)in US history, ended a war, did not start a new war, killed OBL, decimated Al Qaeda leadership, reduce deficit by 75%, illegal immigration a net -0-, stops Iran from going nuclear, restores Cuba relationship, 50% approval rating AND much more despite the MOST obstructionist Congress and Senate since The Civil War in 1861.
Hummmm the Historians will NOT be kind to today’s GOP/Republicans …in fact …they may go the way of the Whigs and the Dodo Bird!

You are correct! Only thing to add is that this situation in Flint, happens to be the consequence of the implementation of the GOP agenda in states since 2010. The 2010 midterms ushered in GOP control in several states for the first time since reconstruction. This was done in large part as a response to a Black man becoming POTUS in 2008. And what did they do? First off, they attacked the democratic process by passing an unprecedented number of Voter ID laws; they redrew electoral districts in their favor, which while making it harder to vote, sucured their dominance in the House of Representatives.

As you noted, they further advanced their fiscal agenda of promoting small government at the expense of the working class. This is just one of the things the Snyder administration has done in Michigan. And as you can see, the consequences are dire. But hey, there’s nothing wrong with making people suffer while saving a buck or two, right? LOL

Yet ANOTHER stellar example of GOP/Republican governance in 21st Century America!
Bush/Cheney started 2000 with a big bang …they squandered the ONLY surplus in the modern era, allowed the 9/11 attack, started Americans longest running war, invaded another country, destabilizing the entire Middle East and now Europe, piss poor response to Hurricane Katrina, poorly manage the economy and lose 800,000 jobs a month and on the way out …nearly crash the US economy causing the The Great Recession …. AND there is more … GOP in US Senate misuse of the filibuster, House GOP led the TWO worst preforming Congress in US history(back to back) …and in EVERY State GOP leads … well MI is a prime example … remove the ELECTED officials, replace them with a Manager with dictatorial powers who reports ONLY to the GOP Governor who decides to save money by poisoning a city of 100,000 AMERICAN citizens (mostly African-AMERICANS of course!).
