While we keep forgiving them they’re going to start knocking us off one at a time. You see these racist bastards never attack a Mosque because they know Muslims don’t play that shit…you attack one of them they’ll bomb a television station, bank or even a hospital they don’t give a fuck…meanwhile we passive Christians sit around mourning and praying while they’re getting ready for the next wave of attacks. No, ma’am. Forgiveness is a requirement if one wishes to be forgiven. I’m not saying that one should let people walk all over them nor that one should surrender judgement when dealing with simple-fucks. In all honesty – it’s hard for me to comment on racism as I’ve never been a victim (only attempted racism). But forgiveness is as simple as killing a mosquito after being bitten without being mad at it.

I understand exactly what you’re saying in this article, Ms. Callahan. But my I suggest that in you’re going to reference the Bible regarding forgiveness, you do so correctly, as this is where many religions and religious people err. You stated:

“The bible says a lot of things that have been open to interpretation, and forgiveness is one of them.”

I refer you, therefore, to the Book of Matthew, Chapter 18, beginning at verse 21 and on through the rest of the chapter, especially, verse 35, the last verse.

That passage begins with Peter asking how many times he must forgive. The rest is Jeshua’s answer.

I agree – I’ve been saying for years that my citizens of color in concert with those who have experienced white privilege need to rise up in the face of racism. Just as we came together to call for the demise of the confederate flag, we have the power, jointly, to bring an end to racism – beginning first with the refusal to forgive anyone who exhibits racism. These types of people have no business in leadership and we need to all turn our backside to them. Together, we can rid our country of this form of hate.
