No “IF” about it, and last time I looked, unarmed folk pose no threat at all. Hard as it is to fathom, giving murderers the benefit of the doubt only leads to more murders. Not many are writing about the story because they know it was murder. Those who know and justify it, would just rather it went away quietly into some dark night. Really.

They had all the choice in the world NOT to shoot her. Your other commenter can put the blame on everyone else but on whom it belongs — I will not. People, women especially, willing to sit back and watch unarmed women be gunned down in cold blood make me ill. We live in a violent, racist police state that keeps getting more violent, more racist and more “police” every day because there are so many afraid people who encourage and applaud it.

I pray her daughter, her sisters and her mother are able to get enough support to get to the bottom of this disaster and those who shot her down like an animal in the street are punished to the full extent of the law. Sister, let us rally around all those sisters in her family! I’ll do anything I can to help. No need to look for the “usual suspects on this one — our society, above all else is patriarchal. No matter the race, female lives still fall far below males of any age, IMHO.
