Track Palin beat his girlfriend then Mama Grizzly Sarah had the nerve to blame Obama for her son’s supposed PTSD. In fact all that asshole did was drive around his commander he never saw one minute of combat AND he was given the chance to join the military or go to jail after he set a school bus on fire. Do you honestly believe that you, I or a person of color would get such a cushy ass deal? HELL NO!! So spare me the ain;t famous enough bullshit the media picks and chooses who they want to vilify so fame or lack of doesn’t have a damn thing to do with it!

In some ways, a more valid–albeit terribly unpopular, FAR more controversial, and possibly unfair–comparison to Bill Cosby might be Bill Clinton.

Also might be worth keeping in mind that many “white” Americans don’t seem to see Cosby as the same “kind” of blackness that they identify big, virile, tough football players as. In fact, prior to the rape allegations, I almost doubt that if many of “those” Americans were asked to describe Cosby in 3 words, that any of the first words they might come up with would be “black”–more like “funny”, “beloved”, and “fatherly”, or along those lines. (Which makes the whole Cosby thing even MORE of a tragedy–he was ADORED by peeps of ALL races. It’s a damn good lesson in having some healthy skepticism of EVERYONE though, esp. celebrities).

Other than that, I think you make some GREAT points about Image, and Unfairness in Perceptions. It’s just that Cumia and Deen are largely “niche” performers (no dirty jokes here!). They have their audiences, but most of those are bound to be their die-hard (and probably misogynist, or crazy-chick) fans. Hence, little likeliness of any huge outrage. Thanks.

The same folks preaching against the black woman that supposedly attacked Cumia[which sounds like a bs story to me anyway]are nowhere to be found for Cumia or Emile Hirsch or Dean Castronovo. and power and privilege please!! the Kennedys have a crapload more power than a lot of men put together and nobody says JACK SQUAT about them using their money, privilege and entitlement to get away with all kinds of nefarious acts. Black people need to have the balls to call out white folks on their own stage rather than sit back and jump on bandwagons that only come back to bite them in the ass later!
