Here’s the problem with that, though. Trump’s son all but confirmed that his father is mentally unstable. Speaking in a radio interview, Eric Trump – yes, the son who looks like Frankenstein – talked about his father’s mental instability. According to Eric Trump, his father has no time for criticism because to do so would have him all in his feels. And apparently, criticism would drive his father into a depression and to commit suicide.

According to PoliticsUSA, this is what Eric Trump said: “It’s the media, the mainstream media, who does not want him to succeed. It’s government who does not want him to succeed. People who are very comfortable in their white marble offices in Washington, DC who he compromises and he threatens in some way, shape or form. ”

He continued, “They’ve never had to deal with somebody who’s an outsider who won’t put up with nonsense, and this is the result no matter what he does, he’s going to get hit and listen, I think you have to tune it out. You obviously have to be tuned into it because you have to know what’s being said, but at the same time you have to take it all with a grain of salt, and you know, if they weren’t talking about you, you wouldn’t be doing something right and it’s important to keep it in context, otherwise quite frankly you’d probably end up killing yourself out of depression.”

Anyone who has followed Trump closely can tell you that there’s something wrong with him. Braggadocio, self-aggrandizement, and a lack of personal responsibility aside, any armchair psychologist or ordinary person could tell you that he wants to be loved. If I had to guess, I’d say that his condition was developed in his childhood. It’s as though he has spent his entire life trying to live up to the expectations of his racist father, Fred Trump. This is what I think this is the root of Donald Trump’s personality disorder.

I think he’s a very sad man, and he has been this way his entire life.

While I detest Donald Trump, everything that he is, and everything he represents, I don’t wish death upon him. I just want him out of our lives. I’d prefer if his exit came by way of an impeachment, or being booted out of office in 2020. Unfortunately, in this case, you get what you pay for. And clearly this is what America wanted, so we all have to deal with it. Until then, I hope and pray that the erratic imbecile doesn’t accidentally launch any nukes in a fit of rage because of anything anyone in the media says about him. Yeah, that would suck. But hey, it’s not like we were not warned that Trump lacked the temperament for the job.

Here’s an interesting tidbit from The Week:

… upticks in the construction of Confederate monuments on courthouse grounds after the landmark Plessy v. Ferguson case in 1896 upheld state segregation laws. The construction of monuments outside of schools jumped after the 1954 Brown vs. Board of Education ruling, in which the Supreme Court deemed state laws segregating public schools to be unconstitutional.

Shortly after the Civil War ended, Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee argued against erecting Civil War monuments, which he warned would “keep open the sores of war” instead of helping to “obliterate the marks of civil strife and to commit to oblivion the feelings it engendered.”

Since the Confederate flag and all Confederate monuments are about heritage and culture and have nothing to do with slavery or the treasonous acts of thousands of men. Why then aren’t there monuments and statues honoring King George of England? Why then isn’t the British flag being flown in parks and state government buildings here in the United States? Oh, that’s right, the British got their asses kicked, and we don’t fly the flag of losers. But… But.. But, aren’t the British are y’all’s cousins?

Here’s what Donald Trump said in defense of the melee in Charlottesville:

Not all of those people were neo-Nazis, believe me. Not all of those people were white supremacists by any stretch. Those people were also there because they wanted to protest the taking down of a statue, Robert E. Lee. You take a look at some of the groups and you see and you would know it if you were honest reporters, which in many cases you are not.

Many of those people were there to protest the taking down of the statue of Robert E. Lee. This week, it is Robert E. Lee and this week, Stonewall Jackson. Is it George Washington next? You have to ask yourself, where does it stop?

Where are the arguments to support the erecting of monuments to honor the lives of the many Britsh soldiers that died during the Revolutionary War? Aren’t those brave men part of your heritage and culture? They damn sure aren’t a part of my heritage and culture given that I’m the descendant of slaves. Yes, those are your people. They were not mine. My people? Again, they were slaves. And guess what? You might find this shocking, but the Civil War was about slavery. Yes, and the people who lost the war – the Confederate Army – fought for the right to secede from the United States. Why? They did this for the sole purpose of keeping people who look like me – you know, my people – enslaved, all the while keeping you poor.

Confederate Monuments Celebrate White Supremacy

To be white and argue in defense of Confederate monuments and symbols says a lot about you. No, it’s not necessarily that you’re racists. It’s that you’re the descendant of what the wealthy white elites considered “poor white trash” during slavery. It was wealthy white elites who coined the term “cracker” to describe poor white folks who weren’t allowed to vote. You know, the mostly illiterate white folks who were just a step up from slaves. Ostensibly, any defense of these symbols and monuments reinforces this notion. It says that while you come from “poor white trash,” at least you weren’t slaves. Yes, you come from poor non-slave-owning white folks, but yet, you were somebody. White trash, yes. Enslaved “niggers” on the other hand? No.

This heritage, my friends, is your legacy, and the culture you’re defending. You’re sadly defending the indefensible. In doing so, you’re fighting to preserve longstanding cultural signposts of ain’t-shitness in the context of whiteness. After all, your ancestors took up arms to defend the right of the South to continue slavery. And by extension, to also ensure your preservation of identity on the lowest rung of the ladder of whiteness. The irony here is that in arguing the conservation of these monuments and symbols, black people are told that we were never slaves. As a result, these monuments should not offend us. Well, most of you never owned slaves, so why revere symbols that honor men who fought to keep slavery alive?

To me, it’s sad that as a white person you the Confederacy is a significant cultural marker. But yet, black people are supposed to get over slavery. I imagine a lot of individuals who look like me would love nothing more than to get over it. Unfortunately, however, many white folks in America are emotionally invested in the maintenance of white supremacy, and all that unearned privilege that comes with it.

Confederate Monuments Celebrates Losers

I can’t imagine the losing Super Bowl team having a ticker tape parade, ever. That’s what I see when I see people championing the preservation of relics and symbols of the Confederacy. You lost. It’s long been over. Go the fuck home. Have a good cry while drinking a beer. After which, have sex with your sister-cousin like always. For Christ sake, give it a rest. If a Confederate monument as a historical signpost is necessary for you, I can only assume that you can’t read. Because, last time I checked, history is recorded in books. Oh yeah, they exist. You may have heard of them, right? Yes, I’m pretty sure there is a building where you live where thousands of books are available for reading upon request. Might I suggest you taking time to visit a library?

The irony of this is that some of the same Americans crying in opposition to the removal of Confederate monuments were once cheering when the Berlin Wall came down. Some of them I imagine have relatives who served in the Iraq war and cheered loudly when the Sadaam Hussien statue in Baghdad was pulled down. You know, because of freedom. Yet, somehow, like the current opioid crisis, white supremacy is a tough drug to shake. It is particularly true when you’ve been led to believe that the freedom enjoyed by black folks is a threat to whiteness. So yeah, it’s either you can’t read, or you’re racist. Either way, it’s deplorable. Whatever you do, don’t be both. Yes, being illiterate and racist sucks.

Removing Confederate Monuments Will Never Rewrite History

Removing Confederate monuments in no way rewrites history or erases one’s culture. It doesn’t change what has already happened. Which could be the very reason they call it history. I’m sorry, but to rewrite history, you’ll have to get Doc Brown, Michael J. Fox, and a DeLorean to make that happen. Well, either that or you can get HBO to create s new series titled Confederate set in an alternate reality where your racist-loser-ass-ancestors won the Civil War. As much as this idea may get you excited, it’s only fiction.

Removing Confederate monuments also doesn’t erase the perverse culture of white supremacy. Said culture has always existed, and will always continue to exist.However, eliminating those monuments nullifies the continued hero worship of men who fought to keep said ideology alive in shared public spaces. They belong in museums where anyone who wants to see them, can see them. They no longer belong in areas where our tax dollars go towards maintaining them for the sole purpose of worship by miscreants who see the Confederacy as part of their heritage, or as a symbol of racial dominance, ever.

To defend Confederate monuments is to be complicit in maintaining white supremacy.

But anyway, I once jokingly thought that racist white men were angry because they weren’t having enough sex. Which, of course, was the fault of all racial minorities, Jews, and members of the LGBTQ community. But now it has hit me that this isn’t true. It isn’t because women are having sex and being supportive of these racist assholes. Yes, instead, like the women who support them, they’re just downright ignorant. This is interesting given the movement’s most vocal and weepy anti-police hero Christopher Cantwell’s roots in the men’s rights movement. Apparently, it’s not just about minorities. It’s also about the white vagina.

At any rate, while I don’t sympathize with racist white men, I understand. I get why the growing presence of immigrants like me and this sudden increase in melanin has become a threat to their well being.

More Sex Will Prevent A Race War

While white people are still a majority of America’s population, you can’t be too careful. If I were you, I too would be worried about guys like me taking the reigns of power. Should that happen, you guys could probably find yourselves enslaved and shipped off to Africa to pick cotton for free. You know, in the blazing equatorial heat? And yes, who needs the type of oppression that doesn’t recognize your humanity, right? So yes, I get why you’re angry. However, might I offer you a bit of advice? I know, in your angst, arming yourselves with guns, donning helmets, shields, and the logo of the Detroit Red Wings and taking to the streets of a sleepy Lilly white small southern town may be the move.

But, if it is a fix to your threatened existence that you seek, may I help? Can I suggest that in the interest of public safety, you’d do the public and yourselves a favor? Seriously, if you guys just started having more unprotected sex, your race might survive this radical assault on privilege.

Research shows that in recent years, less and less white babies are being born. And while this is happening, more children birthed by people of color are born every year. While it’s easy to blame guys like me for your plight, in the interest of personal responsibility and your continued dominance, does it not make sense just to start fucking raw? Yes, more frequently than you have. To hell with condoms! Condoms are for wild black men who would ordinarily run away from the black woman they impregnate. Because, as you know, not taking care of their children is in their genetic makeup. For you, it’s different. Fortunately, white men aren’t burdened with the irresponsibility gene.

Unprotected Sex Will Save Racist White Men

Condoms and all forms of contraceptives at this time will be the death of your race. Which now that I think about it, it makes perfect sense why the Christian types among you are fighting to make abortion illegal. But back to the point: Just start fucking more than you do now. When you feel the urge to hop on social media and type racist posts that project your insecurity as an endangered species, take pause. Do something different. Instead, just have sex. Unprotected sex. Bust a nut or two or three as you can at a time.

Have an orgasm. In due time, I think you’ll see a resurgence of your privilege and cultural prominence. Yes, it’ll be awesome. You guys will start taking back all of those shitty reality TV shows that highlight the pathology associated with being black. Hell, before you know it, you guys might eventually start dominating professional baseball and football again. And yes, wouldn’t that be nice?

Think about it: No more Colin Kaepernick.

Doing this would guarantee you racist white men having a lock on all positions of power for the foreseeable future. Yes, and you’ll never have to worry about spending your hard earned money on things like voter suppression, gerrymandering, or even pretending to care about the concerns of minority voters. Hell, you’ll not only take your country back, but you’ll get all the food-stamps as the good Lord intended. You ignore my advice here, and I promise, there’ll be another Kenyan who lands on American soil who will impregnate one, or maybe a few more white women, who could wind up becoming POTUS, again.

Lord knows you don’t want that to happen.

So, again, because I’m a helper, please consider my advice. Just do more fucking and less torch-carrying rallies. As you see, those things can get ugly and precious white people can get killed. While we may never be able to get along, with more orgasms, you racist white men won’t even notice that we exist. Not noticing us minorities might not be right for us, but at least you racist white men will be happier. Yes, and your unearned privilege and God-given global dominance as a racist white man will be sustained.

Things went so bad for the college boys that a very nice white young lady who didn’t appreciate their anger was killed. This, of course, had the country appalled and forced numerous politicians to scold the college boys over the weekend. The governor of Virginia was so upset, he held a press conference to deliver a message to the college boys. Unlike Trump, his message was direct and clear. He basically told them to “get the fuck out.”

All the while this was happening, everyone waited with bated breath to hear what if anything President Trump would say to or about the college boys. After all, the angry college boys were all supporters of Trump. And as David Duke, their Dean of Admissions put it in one of his many tweets in response to Trump via Twitter. I suppose he chose Twitter and didn’t call directly since his back-channel phone line was down.

Duke called the rally a “turning point,” saying that the college boys would fulfill the promises of Trump’s candidacy. Because, as he tweeted above, Trump owes his white supremacist base bigly. Nonetheless, in spite of a little pushback from his minions, Trump decided to bite the bullet and issue a full-throated condemnation of his terrorist friends. You know, the white freedom-fighters in his base?

The only problem with that is that it was not Trump who delivered those remarks. Like I said, it was a ventriloquist dummy. He looked like Trump, but it definitely wasn’t Trump. Now, I couldn’t see the actual ventriloquist with the hand up the ass of the dummy as they do. Whatever they did to hide him, it worked.

Yet and still, the ventriloquist was able to give more life to the inanimate dummy and make him just a little bit more human-like. Moreso than the orange turd who plays idiot-in-chief.

“Racism is evil — and those who cause violence in its name are criminals and thugs, including KKK, neo-Nazis, white supremacists, and other hate groups are repugnant to everything we hold dear as Americans,” said the dummy in response to the attacks. Funny how he has ignored the uptick in hate crimes.

“Those who spread violence in the name of bigotry strike at the very core of America,” the ventriloquist dummy added. “To anyone who acted criminally in this weekend’s racist violence, you will be held fully accountable,” he said. “Justice will be delivered. ” Yeah, I’m pretty sure even Kim Jung-Un laughed at that.

I guess this is what pressure will do to a man who never admits to any wrong doing. which is interesting, because on TV this morning, Jeff Sessions said that Trump absolutely should condemn his neo-Nazis supporters…  because, well, reasons. When the man once deemed too racist to be a federal judge who probably still owns slaves in Alabama says “you’re more racist than me, sir,” that’s when you’ve lost. Like, lost real mad bigly, son. Again, even Jeff Sessions was of the opinion that his remarks weren’t sufficient.

I’m disappointed in Trump’s latest statement on the event in Charlottesville, though. I expected to hear him say that he’d cover the legal fees of any of the white nationalists arrested by the FBI. But, unfortunately, he didn’t. If there’s any doubt that the words read at the White House today were written by Trump, stop. Not only were they not written by Trump, they weren’t read by Trump. So, if you’re still not satisfied with what you heard, trust me, it’s all the fault of the ventriloquist. Yes, blame it on the dummy and not Trump.

Remember, you can learn a lot from a dummy.

Is Colin Kaepernick Better That Jay Cutler?

You can argue that Kaepernick is a better quarterback than Cutler. And yes, you’re entitled to feel that way. However, I’ll argue that in this instance it’s not about who is better, but instead, who is the better fit. I believe that Jay Cutler is the better fit for the Dolphins.

To be completely honest, if you know me, me making a case for Cutler is tantamount to sacrilege. Yes, it’s almost as bad as slapping my mother in the mouth. After all, I’m a fan of the Green Bay Packers and Cutler played for the Chicago Bears. As a Packers fan, I spent years on the right side of the NFL’s oldest rivalry giving no love to Cutler, ever. So when Chicago ended their relationship with Cutler this year, I didn’t pour out any liquor on his behalf. Basically, as a Packer fan, Brett Favre is God, Aaron Rodgers is Jesus, and Jay Cutler is an evil white devil created by Dr. Yakub. Yes, it’s that serious for me.

However, when I heard that the Dolphins were in need of a quarterback, my first thought was Jay Cutler. After all, Cutler had his best season statistically in Chicago, with Miami’s current head-coach, Adam Gase, as his offensive coordinator in 2015.

Jay Cutler Being Signed By Miami Makes Sense

The owners of NFL teams are no different from men who frequent nightclubs to get pussy, dick, or both. Like those men, all they want to do is score – as in, get some booty. They want to win. They want to win right now. And, they invest a lot of money in the pursuit of winning.

I used to be one of those guys at the club back in the day. I went to the club in hopes of, well, winning. Because of it, I overlooked a lot of women. These were women who, in my mind,  would require a lot of work and my time. In other words, in my mind, though I would’ve definitely loved to have sex with them, that shit wasn’t gonna happen that night. Maybe in the future, but not that night.

This didn’t mean that I was only focused on the drunk chicks passed out under the table in the corner. No, I’m not a rapist. And no, I’m not into the “too easy” types – that’s a problem. But best believe, on a slow night as the “last call for alcohol” drew near, when the pressure was on, I’d focus on what I’d like to call “the old faithful.”

Jay Cutler is an “Old Faithful” Quarterback

These were the women who were the for sure shot. These were the women that I’ve had the privilege of… err… seeing them naked before. Focusing on them at that time didn’t mean that I thought less of them; or that, unlike other women, they were easy. No, never that. In fact, even with them, I would strike out from time to time. Still, my chances of winning increased given our previous engagements, conversations, and relationship.

So what does this have to do with the NFL? It means that right now, teams aren’t interested in pursuing Colin Kaepernick for the same reason. It doesn’t mean he isn’t a good player. For them, it could be that he isn’t good enough. Either that or the fact that he comes with too much baggage that makes him unattractive. You know what baggage I’m talking about here. But just in case you don’t, think of it this way. Like the younger me, while I was looking to smash, the last thing I ever wanted was a long-term relationship beyond just that night. It doesn’t mean that I was opposed to future sexual encounters, however. At that time, it meant that I wasn’t trying to play step-dad or “uncle” to a set of kids that weren’t my own, all in the pursuit of an orgasm.

Jay Cutler Was the Best Fit for the Dolphins

I wasn’t trying to wake up the next day taking the kids to McDonald’s. It wasn’t worth it to me. It sounds mean, but this was where I was at that time as many single men are, and have been. This is exactly where NFL owners are today, folks.

And that my friends, is the reason the Miami Dolphins chose Jay Cutler over Colin Kaepernick. Cutler was a better fit. For them, it wasn’t about Kaepernick’s baggage. They went with a QB who already knows how they get down as opposed to teaching someone new how to give head. They’re trying to win now, and they did what was best for them.

Having taken a cost-benefit analysis themselves, I believe, like the Dolphins, other teams have as well. It’s not that he’s being blackballed as many may believe. It’s just that he isn’t good enough, and his baggage far outweighs his benefit to teams. The team needs aside, that would be, teams trying to win right now. Think about it this way. If Kaepernick was that good, why then were the San Francisco 49ers willing to cut him?

Why Didn’t the 49ers Keep Colin Kaepernick Kaepernick

in an interview with Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, 49ers GM John Lynch explained why they would have cut Kaepernick had he chose not to opt out of his contract.

“… we had that conversation with him [Kaepernick]. So I don’t want to characterize it as he made a decision to leave here. We both sat down and under that current construct of his deal, it was a big number,” Lynch said. “Kyle [Shanahan] had a vision for what he wanted to do, and one thing I think Kyle was very clear and I think Colin appreciated, is that Kyle has an idea of how he’d play with Colin Kaepernick. But he preferred to run the exact offense that he ran in Atlanta last year that was record-breaking in this league. And if you change it for the quarterback, you change it for everybody on that offense. So he had a great discussion that I think gave Colin clarity, so we moved on.”

So there you have it, Colin Kaepernick really isn’t all that. He’s a one-dimensional and seriously inaccurate quarterback. To be fair, Cutler’s accuracy problems are also a concern and has been well documented. Nonetheless, Cutler is a better fit with the Dolphins. Unlike Kaepernick, he’s already familiar with the offensive scheme, the plays, and the verbiage. Cutler being signed before Kaepernick isn’t good evidence of Kaepernick being blackballed.

Ever notice that nobody ever highlights the fact that the fastest-growing racial demographic in America is Asian? The Asian population is growing faster than the Latino population. Yes, it really is. Even more interesting is that you never hear the anti-immigration crowd argue that we need to cut legal immigration because Asians are stealing jobs from Black people. What they do is propose racist immigration policies and argue that said policies are in the interest of Black people. You know, because if your racist policy “helps Black people,” there’s no way that said immigration policy is racist. How then can it be racist if it helps Black people, right?  See how that works? Notice how they never insert white folks into the equation?

This is what Trump and Republican anti-immigration hardliners are currently doing. Last week they introduced a proposal to reduce LEGAL immigration by 50%. By requiring applicants for permanent residency be English-speaking and we’ll off financially, the door of opportunity will be closed to the perceived undesirables. Think about what this means, people. If you buy into this line of thinking, you’re either racist or an enabler of racism. Which either way, really ain’t a good look at all.

Nonetheless, this type of policy is to be expected. Yes, it’s racist. But look at who is beating the drum for said policy. That would be, they guy who loves taco bowls but not Mexicans. Well, not all Mexicans – only the “bad hombre” types. You know, the ones who have made New Hampshire the “drug-infested den,” that it is currently. Yes, that guy. The perpetual train-wreck currently pretending to be President of the United States.

Immigration Is The “Go To” Play

It might be shocking to some that he is now targeting legal immigrants and not “illegal immigrants” as he has campaigned to do. For me, however, this isn’t shocking. Trump’s disdain for every racial and ethnic minority group is well documented. Besides, this is the same asshole who has surrounded himself with white nationalists like Steve Bannon and Stephen Miller, at the White House. Plus, with Trump’s approval rating at 33% and, his support from white voters plummeting – white men, in particular – it’s expected.

“This legislation will not only restore our competitive edge in the 21st century, but it will restore the sacred bonds of trust between America and its citizens,” Trump said as he appeared with the bill’s authors, Republican Senators Tom Cotton and David Perdue.

When Trump said that the legislation would “restore our competitive edge in the 21st. century,” the “our” to whom he refers, are white folks. The idea is that by reducing the number of legal immigrants, there will be less competition and an increase in wages. The trouble with that is that many leading economists oppose the proposal. Surprised? No, because everything Trump says is a lie.

On Wednesday, CNN reporter Jim Acosta got into a heated argument with White House adviser Stephen Miller over whether the proposal violated the Statue of Liberty’s promise that the U.S. welcomes “huddled masses yearning to breathe free.” But the idea also has its defenders, including some economists, who argue that it makes sense to give preference to immigrants who have skills that employers need and who are less likely to rely on government benefits. They note that other countries, including Canada and Australia, already use merit-based systems. (Other economists argue the U.S. needs both high- and low-skilled immigrants, and note that less-educated immigrants have high rates of entrepreneurship.)

There is far less disagreement among economists about the RAISE Act’s other big proposal, which halves the number of green cards issued each year. Mark Zandi, chief economist at Moody’s analytics, called the move a “grave mistake” in an interview with The Washington Post. Zandi is hardly alone: In April, nearly 1,500 economists from across the political spectrum signed a letter to Trump and congressional leaders extolling the economic benefits of immigration. They noted immigrants’ high rate of entrepreneurship, a key issue at a time when Americans are starting fewer companies, and emphasized the importance of bringing new workers to the U.S. to fill the hole left by retiring baby boomers.

Research also shows that immigration has a positive impact on the wages of native-born workers. This has been highlighted by the think tank, the Center for American Progress:

Research shows that immigration will positively affect U.S. workers’ wages and employment. How can that be? While overly simplistic views of economic theory might suggest that wages will decline in the short run as the supply of labor increases, this is not the case with immigration […]

[…] immigrants generally do not have a direct negative impact on the earnings of native-born workers, as native-born workers and immigrant workers generally complement each other rather than compete for the same job. Native-born workers and immigrants tend to have different skill sets and therefore seek different types of jobs. Thus, immigrants are not increasing the labor market competition for native-born workers and therefore do not negatively affect American workers’ earnings.

To be sure, there are some instances when immigrants and the native born are similarly skilled and substitutable for similar jobs. Recent research has found, however, that firms respond to an increase in the supply of labor by expanding their business. Thus, an increased supply of labor as a result of immigration is easily absorbed into the labor market as a result of increased demand for labor, without lowering the wages of native-born workers.

Second, research finds small but positive impacts on native-born workers because of the indirect effects that immigrants have on the labor market and economy. As economists Michael Clemens and Robert Lynch explain in The New Republic, “In some areas of the economy, lesser skilled immigrants have kept entire industries alive.” This not only helps native-born workers within the industries but also native-born workers whose jobs are associated or closely connected to those industries.

Immigration Isn’t The Problem

It’s no surprise watching Trump introduce a racist immigration proposal – much like his Muslim Ban – to serve as “red meat” for his decrepit base. After all, surveys show that Trump’s white voters feel like they’re losing ground in America. Enter his proposed attack on affirmative action, and now, the reduction of legal immigrants.  In their eyes, making America white again is what greatness is about. What they don’t know, however, is that such a policy is detrimental to the economy. But hey, who cares when there will be less black, brown, and yellow people breathing all that God-given American oxygen, right?

As an immigrant and someone who has written about immigration, I can tell you that immigration isn’t a problem. Immigrants aren’t stealing jobs; and, we damn sure aren’t living on welfare. Like myself, many of us are tax-paying entrepreneurs and homeowners who positively contribute to the economy. The problem isn’t immigration, folks. Inarguably, the protection of the unearned privilege of whiteness, that is the problem.

My guess is that a respite is much deserved. Given all the heavy lifting it took to Make America Great Again where the Trump administration has done nothing but fail to date perhaps a few days off couldn’t hurt. I mean, what’s a little time to play golf, right?

Yes, being President of the United States is hard.

Maybe not as hard as President is being a professional racism-chasing-blogger, expert shit talker, and political commentator. But even so, from time to time, we too need a break. So, I took one last week. I took a step back from being your blogging superhero to spend time with my family in Michigan. Yes, in the real world where the summer heat hardly resembles what I’ve become used to down here in Tennessee.

Lemme tell you: It was beautiful!

I was unplugged from the news all week while on vacation with my family. Yes, no network tv news; no cable tv news; no internet; zero social media; no nothing. In fact, even my fellow blog partners refused to take my calls while I was away. I can only guess that they knew what was good for me and acted accordingly.

But guess what? I’m back.

Apparently, there was a lot of fuckery afoot on Capitol Hill while I was away.

I’m still playing catch-up and trying to make sense of it all.

But so far it sounds like:

• Donald Trump peed on a few Boy Scouts and blamed Obama for what he did. Because, why not?
• Sean Spicer was replaced by a shit-talking wannabe mob consigliere who fellates Trump at every turn like Monica Lewinski. Apparently, he wasn’t very good at sucking his own cock so he was fired after 10 days before his official start date.
• John McCain snuck out of his crypt in Arizona, then ran across the country to DC like Forrest Gump and saved the world.
• Mitch McConnell was moved to tears after McCain did what he did, because, turtles love old people. They grow old together.
• Reince Priebus was sent to pick-up donuts and coffee for the WH staff, and he hasn’t been seen since. This made Steve Bannon so happy that he donated to the NAACP in Hitler’s name.
• Fresh out of fucks, Barack Obama was seen laughing maniacally at it all while butt-naked, as he flipped pancakes in the kitchen on one of his many private islands.

Like I said, I’m just now catching up. So, did I miss anything while I was out enjoying life?

This is what happens when you choose not to vote or vote for dead-end third-party candidates. You know, because Hillary Clinton was the devil who eats children at Wall Street dinners and, well… emails. Yep, aren’t you happy about being a responsible adult?

Speaking of which, this from the New York Times:

The Trump administration is preparing to redirect resources of the Justice Department’s civil rights division toward investigating and suing universities over affirmative action admissions policies deemed to discriminate against white applicants, according to a document obtained by The New York Times.

The document, an internal announcement to the civil rights division, seeks current lawyers interested in working for a new project on “investigations and possible litigation related to intentional race-based discrimination in college and university admissions.”

The announcement suggests that the project will be run out of the division’s front office, where the Trump administration’s political appointees work, rather than its Educational Opportunities Section, which is run by career civil servants and normally handles work involving schools and universities.

So the Department Of Justice (DOJ) under Jeff Sessions will now take colleges and universities to court for discriminating against white applicants by favoring racial minorities in the interest of diversity. Because of course affirmative action is racist. And well, white people get weepy because that’s just what “economic anxiety” does to them. Yes, the sensibilities of some white folks are as tender as an angel’s labia.

What the DOJ won’t be doing, however, is investigating or holding local police departments accountable via consent decrees when they abuse civil rights, or “accidentally” kill people of color. Hey, accidents do happen. After all, we’re all human and not RoboCop.

So anyway, thanks for playing “I’m A Fucking Dumbass” by voting for Jill Stein or sitting out the 2016 general election. Be sure to tip your waiters and claim your parting gift of oppression as you exit the building. If we don’t see you in 2018, be sure to fly MAGA Airways in 2020. Once again, thanks for being a responsible adult in helping to usher in the orange apocalypse. Don’t worry, some of us will survive this, but we’ll never forget.

I agree with Ray when he said that Colin needs to speak up for himself. I mean, who can better sell Colin Kaepernick to NFL teams than Colin Kaepernick?

Lewis is a two-time Super Bowl champion with the Ravens, and there’s no doubt in my mind that he knows what it takes to make it in the NFL. Having had a run-in with the law himself and beating a murder charge, there’s also no doubt that Lewis understands damage control as it relates to the NFL brand. A devout Christian, Lewis said he prays for Kaepernick and has his name in his Bible. He also called Kaepernick a “brother for life.”

“If people really want to help you, if they really want to help you, man, they’ll pray for you, brother,” said Lewis. “They’ll lead you the right way and stop encouraging you to be caught up in some of this nonsense. All that religiosity aside, again, I agree with what Ray Lewis said. But that other shit he said? C’mon, bruh! NFL players get annual awards for their very public activism work.

So no, that’s rubbish.

Just Stick To On-Field Football Commentary, Ray Lewis

In fact, charitable work and social advocacy are encouraged because it bodes well for the NFL brand. It’s the reason the NFL does its best to “protect the shield,” as they say. Because, with NFL being the number one sport in America, it’s understandable why, to them, image and branding are everything. Which, when you think about the stand Kaepernick took last year as a personal demonstration against racial injustices vis-a-vis police violence, it makes sense why he’s having a hard time finding a job in the NFL.

Which is bullshit in itself when you consider that there are NFL players like Malcolm Jenkins and others who publicly do advocacy work related to racial justice. In fact, Jenkins was one of four current and former NFL players who met with lawmakers on Capitol Hill to discuss police brutality and criminal justice reform in 2016. Guess what? They still have spots on NFL teams, and they don’t appear to be “blackballed” like Kaepernick.

Okay, so they didn’t choose to sit or kneel during the national anthem before games like Kaepernick. I get it – what he did was a lot bolder. Yet and still, Kaepernick announced earlier this year that he has no intention to pursue similar protests in the future. While this is certainly a concern for teams, contrary to Ray Lewis’ advice, Kaepernick’s off-field activism should not matter. All that matters – or should matter – is his talent and skill.

While I believe that Ray Lewis genuinely meant well, to me, it’s apparent that he didn’t convey what e truly meant to say. The tragedy here is that he made this a public gesture. Which, to me, says that it was more about Ray Lewis than Colin Kaepernick. If it wasn’t, a simple private phone call to Kaepernick would have sufficed, yes? Especially if Lewis really wants to see Kaepernick signed by the Baltimore Ravens.

]]> Is HBO’s forthcoming show Confederate a bad idea?

I personally think it’s a great idea, but that’s just me.

What’s so bad about a series set in a present day alternative universe where the South won the Civil War? In a world where the South secedes, slavery is still the order of the day? If anything, I think the series would encourage people to be more appreciative of how far we’ve come. And maybe, in doing so, some of my too-woke-to-vote negro cousins will understand the power of full citizenship. In other words, there could be a greater appreciation for political engagement, civic duty, and all that democracy shit many of us unappreciative motherfuckers despise. Especially if there’s a third Civil War as promised.

But hey, that’s just me being forward thinking, hopeful, and eternally optimistic.

Unfortunately, not everyone thinks like I do. Obviously, many folks are opposed to the series coming to fruition. So much so, that many have taken to social media with the hashtag #NoConfederate. These tweets target HBO, and HBO has paid attention.

To be clear, I fully support their right to dissent; and I also respect their agency.

But real talk: I wanna to see the show.

The hashtag was started by the founder of the once viral #OscarSoWhite campaign, April Reign. Recently interviewed by The Root, Reign is vehemently opposed to HBO profiting from the pain of black folks. Reign is joined in the effort by Theodore-Vachon, screenwriter and filmmaker Lauren Warren, Shanelle Little, and Black Girl Nerds founder and managing editor Jamie Broadnax.

“The five of us came together and wanted to do something targeted about Confederate because we are concerned that there is going to be yet another show that monetizes the pain of black people, and we have truly had enough,” Reign told The Root.

“If HBO wants to do a show about the enslavement of black people, Underground exists, and it’s still looking for a home, and that is helmed by a black woman,” Reign said. “HBO could actually pick up that show, and we would all support that,” she added.

From that, I could only conclude that Reign’s real beef with Confederate, is that its producers are white. Mind you, these are the same producers responsible for the hit show Game of Thrones on HBO that many of my friends watch regularly. As such, for her, a white producer profiting from the plight of black folks is problematic. In the case of Underground – which is also centered on slavery – to Reign, the producer being black, makes it perfectly okay for HBO to profit from the pain of black folks.

To me, this is a very bad argument.

It’s kinda like the argument that says it’s okay for black folks to use the n-word, but completely out of bounds for anyone white to do the same in any context. Like the recent debate over Bill Maher’s use of the term “House Nigga,” it basically becomes a never-ending circle-jerk. It’s much like the debate we have every year over whether we, black people, should celebrate Independence Day… because of slavery.

It’s stupid, but I digress.

Confederate Could Embolden Racists

Like many, you may be of the opinion that Confederate would empower racists. But the beauty of it, to me, is that while it may, the show is fiction. While I’m sure Confederate may give racist white men more powerful erections than Viagra can. The truth is that a show like that would be like the ultimate trolling of anyone sympathetic to the Confederacy and all it represented back in the day. Let’s be real: They fucking lost the war.

That said, for me, nothing is more hilarious than some white-trash-hick chugging a beer in the trailer park getting his rocks off on what could have been, as they watch the show. After watching it, they may feel the need to utter a few more n-words than normal, but, so what? In the real world, while pockets of ignorance still exist, because they were defeated by the Union Army, the life they envisioned will never become reality.

In other words, it’s like jerking off to Beyonce. Yeah, you might bust a nut when you do. However, your shriveled up peen will never see any parts of her vagina. Nor will it get within inches of it in real life. And trust me, for anyone who masturbates to Beyonce, this is tragic.

Yes, it’s like blue balls tragic.

Confederate Should Not Have Us Fearful

Yes, let HBO produce and air the show, people. While someone with a morbid sense of humor like myself may find it entertaining. Even more entertaining would be the thought of racist white folks getting joy from a show that depicts an alternate reality. You know, sorta like my kids wishing Willy Wonka was real?

As local governments currently remove monuments of the Confederacy. The series Confederate would add to their collective pain and disappointment. And guess what? I’m so here for that. So much so that I say that all Confederate monuments should be replaced by statues of Barack Obama. Yeah, how about that for progress, bitches? Besides, white supremacists are wearing dreadlocks these days.

Like Justine, he too is an immigrant

This, of course, means little to a rationally thinking person like me. After all, Noor was still a cop, who shot and killed an unarmed person. However, unfortunately, for some, this is an interesting spin on the prevailing racial narrative associated with police violence. For example, someone who read what I wrote about the original story, took the time to hit me up to say that I never mentioned that Justine was killed by a black cop. Mind you, at the time when I wrote about it, the details of the officer were not released. I had no idea that the officer was black, nor did I assume or imply that the officer was white.

What I did point out, was that it was interesting that there was very little said in response to the incident by the #AllLivesMatter crowd. Guess what? I still haven’t heard a thing from them. You’d think that with Justine being a white woman in an affluent neighborhood, this would be the perfect opportunity to counter the Black Lives Matter movement. This was a chance for them to say, “See, white people get shot and killed too. So, shut up with all your silly talk about racism, black people. Yes, all lives matter!”

But no, that didn’t happen.

Where is Blue Lives Matter?

I also find it interesting that there is little rancor from the #BlueLivesMatter crowd if any. I don’t see them coming to the defense of the officer. Where is the GoFundMe account to solicit donations to help him in his defense? Where is all the talk about white-on-white crime being used to justify the seemingly senseless killing of a white woman? Because of course crime is the reason.

It’s possible that with me running in different circles, I have yet to see any of this. It’s possible but highly unlikely. As vocal as these folks were in the face of the killing of a black and brown person, by the police. I’m sorry, but I’m sure they would be out here.

But hey, perhaps I’m asking for too much. Maybe expecting people who have little regard for black lives to actually care about a white woman who was shot and killed by the police is a fool’s errand. I don’t know, but maybe it’s that they really don’t give a fuck about anyone who gets killed by the cops. And, the only time they feel the need to support the police is if the officer in question is white. Because, why ride for a black cop, right?

A Black Man Isn’t Allowed to Kill a White Woman

Speaking of which, I doubt whether officer Mohamed Noor is going to be held accountable for this. Sure, he may have his day in court. Which, if he did, would be nice. However, like every police officer who has ever gotten off, I expect him to do so as well.

Hear me out on this.

I get why folks are saying that the officer Noor is definitely going to jail. Yes, he killed a white woman; and yes, he’s black; and of course, he’s also a Muslim immigrant from Somalia. Like I said, I get it. The officer, in this case, is black, and that “privilege” thing isn’t going to work in his favor. However, what’s being overlooked is the fact that he’s still a police officer. He’s still a member of the fraternal order of “fuck your rights.”

So what does that mean?

It means that per the US Supreme Court, a police officer’s use of deadly force isn’t illegal given a reasonably perceived threat of bodily harm and possible death. That’s when you get the “I feared for my life,” defense. It’s worked so well in the past, why wouldn’t it now?

Aren’t Police Officers Supposed to Stick Together?

There is also the issue of police unions and the power and influence they wield.

Just ask Marilyn Mosby. You know, the Maryland state attorney who tried to bring six Baltimore police officers to justice for the death of Freddie Gray? Mosby is being sued for doing her job. Yes, and like Freddie gray, like Mosby, and a few of the officers changed, officer Noor is black. So, again, it’s just not that simple.

Besides, it’s hard for me to imagine an officer being held accountable for killing someone in Minneapolis. After all, another officer was recently cleared for killing someone in an incident that was caught on tape. In this case, it wasn’t, and there are no real witnesses. So yeah, good luck with that.

But the Officer is Black and Justine is White

But then again, I could be completely wrong. Officer Mohamed Noor might actually serve time in prison for killing Justine Damond. As much as certain folks are angry now that O.J. Simpson is about to be released from prison. I think it’s safe to say that this brother is toast. Hell, the attorney for Justine’s family has called Justine “the most innocent victim” of a police shooting in history. I’m sorry, but it looks like they’re about to put this brother under the jail. In a press conference, Minneapolis Police Chief Janeé Harteau recently said that Justine “didn’t have to die,” and that, “This should not have happened.”

“It goes against who we are as a department, how we train and our expectations for our officers,” she added. Harteau also said that the incident was the result of the “actions and judgment of one individual,” and that, “the body cams should have been activated.”
