Rep. Mary Franson (R-MN.): Giving Poor People Welfare is Like Feeding “Wild Animals”

Mar 03, 2012 12 Comments by

OK, so where have I heard this before?

Yep, yet another one of those “we hate poor people” statements from yet another Republican politician. I know, it’s like these people just don’t get it; and quite frankly, I don’t think that they even care to. This time around, Minnesota State Rep. Mary Franson has released a YoutTube video explaining her rationale for the reduction of the amount of time residents are allowed to stay on assistance. This is a big deal because as you know, those godforsaken poor bastards are really draining the coffers of state government all across the country; yep, especially those single mothers.

In her video, she explains that she would like to reduce the number of years allowed for welfare recipients from five years to three years. And of course she has a that Republican social scientific empirical evidence to back up her video. In the following video she says, “And here, it’s kind of ironic, I’ll read you this little funny clip that we got from a friend,” she said. “It says, ‘Isn’t it ironic that the food stamp program, part of the Department of Agriculture, is pleased to be distributing the greatest amount of food stamps ever. Meanwhile, the Park Service, also part of the Department of Agriculture, asks us to please not feed the animals, because the animals may grow dependent and not learn to take care of themselves.”

Now the real irony to her statement, is that according to the USDA, the district she represents has one of the state’s highest poverty rates, with 17% of it’s residents living in poverty in 2010. Yep, that’s a significant number of wild animals to have to worry about becoming too dependent on the government. You can watch the following video; hopefully her accent doesn’t irk you like it did me.

Franson’s a clone of Sarah Palin. I’mm sure she and her ilk are draining the state coffers and looking out for their 1% buddies.  I LOATHE THESE FUCKERS.

Look for a Tim Pawleny/Mary Franson ticket in 2 016!

OMG, I thought I was the only one who sees her ass as a Palin wannabe.

Seriously, RiPPa, my head hurts, just listening to the this shit.  Any wonder Franson could read the script.

I have made myself a promise during this election year not to let these crazy bats make me loose my focus because they are sincerely stupid.  I mean to keep that promise to myself.

I am just finishing up my application for food stamps because I am currently without a five and forty.  I have no shame in my game because without nourishment for the body, I cannot stay healthy or continue my employment search.

This bat right here is pretty smug in her statement because there is no one in her face to challenge her.  I would love to see her say this to families, the elderly and disabled people who receive SNAP benefits.

In their quest to take the nation back it is obvious that there is no true thought given to how that honestly is going to come back and bite them in the ass.

But it is up to the people in her home state to confront her.  Where are they at?

It’s time for us to be our own leaders and organizers.  This wannabee is going to continue talking three shades of crazy until someone or many folks give her the beatdown that she deserves.

Try reading some history. Discover what makes an economy run. Try basic economics and see how stealing from one person to give it to another doesn’t help and economy grow. For example: if you were to go into BestBuy and steal money out of their register, then go across the street and spend that money in Walmart can you say with a straight face that you are stimulating the economy? That’s the mentality morons like yourself would try to have the rest of those of us with a brain believe. There are some people who need help (shouldn’t be given by the gov’t). And before the over bloated gov’t got involved people got that help from neighbors, charities, churches, community programs at local levels. But there is a huge amount of people who rely on the gov’t for everything who are perfectly capable of work and have no intention to find work.

I’m starting to think we should screen folks with Yahoo! avatars, as they tend to be, well, yahoos.

    She’s not a Palin wanna-be, she’s a Palin clone. LOL.

I just like to point out that the US Department of the Interior (not Agriculture) is in charge of the National Park Service. This elected member of congress is so ignorant she doesn’t even understand government agency organization…

Well, if 5 years is good, why not allow them to stay on welfare for 10 years? How about 20? Why not 50 or 60 or 70 years? What is your point here? That people who are given things like food and shelter will somehow miraculously start taking care of themselves? Or is it your belief that handouts (actually, money stolen from other people) will motivate people to get jobs? That would be fine if it didn’t go against everything that social and economic sciences tell us. Oh, and no one cares that your black – only you and your liberal friends.

Because denying them food and shelter, thus condemning them to homelessness and starvation, isn’t quite the motivator you’d expect it to be.

Give a man fish and all that. But instead of teaching him how to fish, you’d probably say “fuck you, get your own fishing rod and line and figure it out yourself.”
